Introduction

There are times in your professional life where you might disagree with a senior over the course of action for a particular project. According to Sheryl Sandberg, the Chief Operations Officer of the most successful tech companies in the world- Facebook suggests that communication is the most important key to the efficient delivery of a project. She time and again emphasizes the need to offer your suggestions and opinions regardless of the position you hold in an organization. You are a contributing member of the company, and therefore your opinions hold Value.

If such a situation arises, you always have the option of writing to your superior providing your thoughts or recommendation, offering him or her your suggestion on matters. Write them a polite but straight forward letter, where you address the issues point to point and offer your alternative solution to the problem. Make sure the tone of respect for the individual is maintained throughout in the letter.

I have been a part of UC’s marketing team for the past two years. In my two years, I feel like I have explored new avenues of marketing that I was not even aware of. In this ever changing fast track world I would like to point out that to survive as the number one start up of India, we need to do something different like people say something ‘Hatt Ke.’

Considering that ages 18-22 constitute the majority of our consumers that too from metropolitan cities such as Delhi and Bangalore I would like to propose the initiation of a new marketing campaign operating under the banner of ‘Hatt Ke.’

This campaign could involve us concentrating on some social issues prevalent in our society. This will help us strike a chord with not only our existing users but a number new people as well. We need to appeal to the emotions of potential consumers. We could tackle issues of patriarchy, issues related to the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transexual community. Someone needs to give them a voice, and I feel it should be us.

This could draw a lot of attention towards our line of services. Steve Jobs once said, “Those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do.” It is our time to emerge as the next big thing in the market. And this becomes the perfect opportunity to do so.
